Integrated functions
Thermal insulation, sound absorption and an exposed finish work together to address multiple design objectives.

K-13 · THERMAL & ACOUSTIC FINISH
K-13 spray-applied cellulose brings thermal insulation, sound absorption and a natural textured finish together. Material solutions for exposed ceilings and complex roof forms.

01 / BUILDING SOLUTIONS
Consider acoustics, thermal requirements and architectural expression within one material solution.

The fibres of K-13 absorb sound energy, helping reduce reflections and reverberation. Thickness and coverage should be selected for the acoustic goals of restaurants, offices and public spaces.
K-13 can serve as an exposed acoustic ceiling finish while keeping the structure visible. Coordinate colour and details with beams, decking and building services.
Spray application follows suitably prepared substrates and complex ceiling forms, creating a continuous fibrous finish. Substrate preparation, service interfaces and edge details still need design coordination.
K-13 adds thermal resistance to roof assemblies. Design around the required R-value, deck profile, thickness and support system, with condensation assessment and roofing manufacturer coordination.

03 / THE MATERIAL
A spray-applied cellulose material manufactured by ICC in the USA. A proprietary water-based adhesive binds the fibres into an exposed thermal and acoustic finish, with standard and custom colours.
On-screen colour references only. Confirm colour and texture with a physical sample. Selected: White
Performance varies with thickness, substrate and assembly. Sound isolation must be assessed using complete assembly test reports; NRC is not a sound isolation rating.

Evaluate value through the contribution to the complete building solution.
Thermal insulation, sound absorption and an exposed finish work together to address multiple design objectives.
In suitable designs, reduce the need for separate finishes or portions of suspended ceiling construction.
Consider target performance, supporting construction and installation conditions when comparing complete solutions.
05 / ABOUT YUANBEN
Yuanben has worked in environmental and functional building materials since 1999 and began promoting ICC K-13 in 2006. Our experience spans hundreds of projects across mainland China, including buildings, shops, bars, factories, tunnels and villas. We provide ongoing technical support through material selection, detail coordination, installation planning and site quality management.
